About Fiddlers Elbow to Abercynon
Fiddlers Elbow to Abercynon is just over half a mile (1.1 km) of double bank fishing for wild brown trout and grayling on the Taff, from the footbridge to the confluence with the Cynon. Fly, worm and spinning are permitted, with no spinning outside the trout season.
Although close to Abercynon, the stretch has a rural feel away from the town, but other river users may be about on warm summer days. There are no dedicated parking areas, though there is main road parking nearby. This is Taff Bargoed Angling Association club water, so exclusivity is not guaranteed and other anglers may be present. The Passport says the Bargoed Park lakes are also available to fish on this ticket, with maps available on booking.
Dogs are allowed if kept under control at all times. There is no night fishing or overnight camping, the order confirmation email must be produced if asked, and an online catch return must be completed after fishing. The bag limit is 3. It is booked through the Fishing Passport.
