About North Wey, Wrecclesham
Grayshott Angling Club fishes a stretch of the North Wey at Wrecclesham, on the edge of Farnham, either side of Wrecclesham Road at Passmore Bridge. The club’s map shows both banks east of the road, up to where it indicates, and the north bank only west of the road. The club describes it as classic small water river fishing, where a travel light approach works best, moving from swim to swim.
The club offers fly fishing for wild brown trout from 1 April to 30 September, for which a small additional charge is made on top of membership. It says the water responds well to a traditional upstream dry fly approach and has good hatches of upwinged flies, including a regular mayfly hatch from mid to late May. Chub, roach and dace are also fished here, and the club’s catch and release policy applies to trout. The water is for members of the club. The position shown is approximate.
