About Cwmwysg Ganol

Cwmwysg Ganol is three quarters of a mile of right bank on the upper Usk, half a mile downstream of Sennybridge. It is made up of four pools, including the Quarry Pool, which the Passport calls a noted salmon catch. The brown trout fishing is described as excellent, with fish over 3lb appearing regularly, and the Junction Pool, where the Cilieni enters the main river, is a particular hot spot for trout. The river runs over a mixture of gravel and bedrock, so wading varies and studded soles are advised.
