About Glan-yr-Afon

Glan-yr-Afon is a two thirds of a mile stretch of right bank on the Usk in the Llangynidr area. The Passport describes a combination of trout fishing and some very large salmon pools. This part of the Usk is dominated by bedrock, so wading is not the easiest and stud or stud and felt soles are a must. Parking is about 100 metres from the river. A public footpath runs alongside the fishery for much of its length, so other river users may be present, for example on warm summer days, bank holidays and weekends. The owner reserves the right to fish one rod.
