About Glanusk Tymawr/Canal and Rivers Trust
Glanusk Tymawr/Canal and Rivers Trust is about half a mile of mostly single, right bank on the main Usk, a couple of miles downstream of Brecon. It is a merger of the Glanusk Tymawr and Canal and Rivers Trust waters, and it can be booked from Monday to Thursday. The Passport says the combined fishery gives salmon anglers some excellent opportunities, and the whole beat has fantastic trout fishing, from dry fly flats to faster pocket water.
Wading is moderately difficult, chest waders are needed to cover the water fully, and stud or felt soles are necessary. Parking is next to the river, though when it is wet there is a short walk of about 150 metres.
It is fly fishing only for trout, two trout may be taken per rod, and salmon are catch and release at all times. Dogs are not allowed. A salmon day ticket costs £33.50 and a river trout day ticket £24.50, with up to four tickets a day. It is booked through the Fishing Passport.
