About Llangoed
Llangoed is about a mile and a quarter of single bank, the right bank, on the Wye, nine miles downstream of Builth Wells. It has a variety of water and a number of well known, productive salmon pools, and the Passport says the trout and grayling fishing is also excellent in this part of the river. There is fishing on both the upper and lower sections, the upper perhaps the better. Large chub are the main quarry for coarse anglers.
The beat is fished on an am and pm split, so nobody fishes the same pool as you from the opposite bank at Llanstephan.
Salmon are catch and release at all times, the limit is two fish (trout and grayling), and dogs are not allowed. Up to two tickets are sold a day. A salmon day ticket costs £36 and a trout day ticket £24. It is booked through the Fishing Passport.
