About Old Clytha

Old Clytha is about 470 yards (400 metres) of left bank on the Usk, suited to a few hours of trout or salmon fishing. The Croy pool is a noted salmon catch and lovely fly water, and the rest of the beat suits trout. You can fish the whole of Croy from the bank. The section above it is a long, shallow-ish glide suited to wading up the middle of the river and picking off rising trout. Right at the top of the beat a deeper pool holds some big trout but can only be fished for salmon with a spinner. Parking is around 300 metres from the river.
