About The Breconshire Fishery

The Breconshire Fishery is a 1½ mile (2 kilometre) stretch of the Usk downstream of Llanfaes Bridge in Brecon. The river here mostly flows over gravel, so wading is easier than on other parts of the river. As well as some good trout fishing there are some decent salmon pools, and the wild trout are supplemented by occasional stocking. Parking is less than 50 metres from the river. Vehicles can only reach the bankside parking at the downstream limit if the angler is disabled, and disabled anglers can get a padlock code for it from the Town Council on weekdays between 8.30am and 1pm; contact details are given on booking. Exclusivity is not guaranteed on this beat.
