About The Rocks
The Rocks is just over half a mile of single bank, the left bank, on the Wye upstream of Builth Wells. As the name suggests it is a spectacularly rocky stretch with numerous pools and runs, and it offers good trout and grayling fishing. Fishing from the bank is possible in places, but when wading care is needed because some of the pools are extremely deep. The parking spot is next to the river towards the upstream limit.
It is fly fishing only, all species are catch and release, and dogs are allowed if kept under control. Up to two tickets are sold a day, and a trout day ticket costs £24.50. It is booked through the Fishing Passport.
