About Upper Tower

Upper Tower is a beat of a little over half a mile on the Usk, 15 miles from Abergavenny and 7 miles from Crickhowell. The Passport describes excellent salmon pools and long trout runs with good flows, and a beat that feels very private, is easy to get to and has nice open sections. The riverbed is a mixture of silt and gravel so wading is easy, but there are some very deep pools with potentially strong flows and the banks are steep in places, so know your entry and exit points before you wade.
