About River Dee, Pickhill

Pickhill is a left bank beat of about three quarters of a mile, running downstream from the Buttresses, the railway bridge pool that straddles the boundary with the Ormrod’s water above. The club says it is easily reached, good for all methods and very popular with members. Its named water includes the Garden Pool, about a hundred yards long, the Brook Mouth, Nunnely’s Run and Nunnely’s Pool, which it calls the most prolific pool on the beat, Johnny Morris with its groynes on the far bank, George’s Run, the Big Pool and the Car Park Run at the bottom.
