About Serenity House Upper Irfon Fishery
Serenity House Upper Irfon Fishery is a little under a mile of left bank on the River Irfon above Llangammarch Wells, in peaceful scenery. Most of it is easily waded open gravel flats that suit dry fly and spiders, while the upper part of the beat, above the junction with the Dulas Brook, has a deep gutter that has produced some superb grayling to heavy nymph tactics. Trout of up to three pounds are possible, with the average fish around 8 to 12 inches. The beat was formerly known as The Cammarch Hotel Upper Beat.
Fly fishing only for trout and grayling from March to October, and bait fishing for grayling from November to February. All species are catch and release, there is no night fishing or overnight camping, and dogs are not allowed. The trout day ticket costs £22 and the winter grayling day ticket is listed at £21 to £22, with up to four tickets a day. A salmon day ticket is also sold. Waders, nets and tackle must be sprayed with Virkon before and after fishing. It is booked through the Fishing Passport.
