About Upper Irfon

The Upper Irfon is more than two and a half miles of single and double bank fishing just north of the spa town of Llanwrtyd Wells. It flows through one of the most picturesque valleys in the upper Wye system, and the Passport calls it a noticeably improving wild trout fishery, with grayling now starting to appear in this part of the river. The Passport suggests a rod of 7 to 8 feet rated 2 to 5 weight.
